Ferdinand Beer Born in France and raised in France and Switzerland, Ferdinand Beer holds a Sorbonne M.S. degree and a theoretical mechanics degree from the University of Geneva. Beer joined Lehigh University's faculty where he taught 37 years. He held a number of positions including the Chair of University Distinguished Professors and the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics.
E. Russell Johnston, Jr. Born in Philadelphia, has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Delaware University and an Sc. D. in Structural Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).In 1991, Russ was awarded the Outstanding Civil Engineer Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers ' Connecticut Section.
David Mazurek is currently holding a B.S. In the ocean engineering industry and the M.S. In civil engineering from the Institute of Technology of Florida and a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut. He was employed for five years by the General Dynamics Corporation Electric Boat Division, providing support for underwater construction and conducting engineering design and analysis related to pressure hull and other structures.
Phillip J. Cornwell holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas Tech and a PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Princeton. At the Rose - Hulman Institute of Technology, where he has taught since 1989, he is currently a professor of mechanical engineering. His present interests include structural dynamics, monitoring of structural health and education in undergraduate engineering.
Brian Self was awarded his B.S. And what about M.S. Degree in Virginia Tech Engineering Mechanics and PhD in Bioengineering from Utah University. He served on the board of the American Society of Engineering Education from 2008 - 2010. In order to help evaluate student conceptual understanding, Brian developed the Dynamics Concept Inventory. His professional interests include research on education, physiology of aviation, and biomechanics.
